New student zone at TUZVO: Cooperation between academia and practice has brought a unique result
A project has been created at the Faculty of Woodwork of the Technical University of Zvolen, which represents an exceptional example of interdisciplinary cooperation in an academic environment and its connection with practice. The result of this synergy is a new relaxation and work zone on the 4th floor, which will serve future generations of students and refer to creativity, precision and the ability to connect theory with real implementation.
The project was created within the skill.ED program of the Kronospan foundation in connection with the companies Kronovision sro and Kronospan sro in Zvolen. The project was implemented within the newly created course Simulation of Interdisciplinary Cooperation in Practice I. and II. Its aim was to involve students from several departments of the Faculty of Woodwork in the process of designing and implementing a familiar space in front of elevators on the interfloor. The project represented a real assignment where students had the opportunity to encounter challenges similar to those that await them in practice.
The new student zone was completed in December 2024 and provides a modern place to study, relax and collaborate on projects. Every detail reflects the values and visual identity of TUZVO and shows how effective collaboration between academia and practice can lead to exceptional results.
The official opening of the space is scheduled for February 27, 2025. This event will bring together everyone who participated in the implementation of the project – students, teachers, mentors, and representatives of Kronospan, sro and Kronovision, sro – to jointly remind themselves of the value of collaboration and creative approach in an academic environment.
